Evaluasi Retrofitting Kolom Gedung A RSPTN Jember Menggunakan Metode Respons Spektrum Berbasis Software

Abstract


Indonesia is located at the convergence of active tectonic plates, resulting in high seismic activity. This condition requires critical facilities, such as Building A of the State University Hospital (RSPTN) at the University of Jember, to maintain structural performance that ensures safety and continued functionality after an earthquake. As buildings age and seismic evaluation standards evolve, assessment of column elements is necessary to determine structural safety and strengthening needs. This study aims to evaluate the seismic performance of the columns in Building A of RSPTN Jember based on ASCE/SEI 41-17, identify columns requiring strengthening, and analyze the improvement in structural performance after retrofitting using the concrete jacketing method. A quantitative approach was employed through structural analysis using SAP2000 V.14 and the response spectrum method in accordance with SNI 1726:2019, utilizing existing structural data, loading data, material properties, and geotechnical investigation results. Performance evaluation covered the fundamental period, base shear, inter-story drift, and column capacity per ASCE/SEI 41-17. Results showed a maximum inter-story drift of 28.275 mm (X-direction) and 6.666 mm (Y-direction), both within allowable limits, yet several columns failed to meet performance criteria. Applying concrete jacketing increased column axial and nominal moment capacity (Pnk = 86,481 kg; Mnk = 6,392,998 kg-cm), exceeding the factored demand forces and improving overall structural performance. This retrofitting approach is recommended as a practical strengthening alternative for similar hospital buildings to meet seismic resistance requirements.
